Mallory & Ben - wedding

One thing we love about weddings is that we go places that we may never have discovered if not for being wedding photographers. Mallory and Ben's wedding took place in Dayton at Carillon Park. This is a historical park that celebrates the city's rich history of printing, trade, and airplanes/bicycles. Now we're not usually ones for historical parks but this one was cool! If you have never been you should definitely go, but we would suggest going on a cooler day, because it was HOT! Luckily Mallory and Ben were troopers as they walked from one side of the park to the other stopping along the way to take photos. If you follow our blog, you might remember Susan and Paul's wedding that we photographed back in June. Well, as it turns out Mallory is Susan's sister...so we had the unique opportunity to shoot sisters' weddings three weeks apart - how often does that happen??? Mallory and Ben's First Look took place at an old 1880s schoolhouse. We also had a chance to photograph the couple inside the schoolhouse, where the natural light was simply amazing. Then we simply strolled throughout the rest of the park taking photos here and there among the buildings, automobiles and trees. The couple's ceremony took place on the old Morrison Iron Bridge at the far end of the park. What a unique spot to get married! Another special touch was that the minister Daniel who presided over the ceremony was a good friend of the couple. Their reception took place inside the Transportation Center - among old train cars, locomotives and steam engines...a very cool place indeed. One of our favorite details about their wedding was that the couple took time throughout the year to make hundreds of little origami swans that were then strung together to create a curtain. They also had silly masks with a polaroid camera for guests to take photos to put in Mallory and Ben's guest book. It was very fun and provided a great backdrop for some unexpected photographic moments. Congrats to the happy couple, and thanks as always for looking at our photos. We welcome your comments!
